Presenting the story of polar inverses, ‘Yunhi’ is a romantic drama series, directed by Muhammad Ehteshamuddin, starring Maya Ali and Bilal Ashraf in the lead roles. The series portrays the story of Dawood, a simple man, and Kaneez Fatima, a strong-willed woman, who come from the same cultural background but grew up in different societies. As they fall in love, they gradually learn to accept and appreciate each other’s diverse viewpoints on life. This lighthearted love story explores the obstacles of finding love and understanding amidst cultural diversity in an ever-evolving world.

Produced by Momina Duraid Productions, Yunhi has a talented cast, including Behroze Sabzwari, Deepak Perwani, Tazeen Hussain Tahira Imam, Manzoor Qureshi, Maha Hassan, Khaqan Shahnawaz, Uzma Baig, Saad Faridi, Laiba Khurram and others, ‘Yunhi’ promises to be a captivating and entertaining watch. Its melodious OST is also a treat to the ears, with amorous cinematography featuring the phenomenal chemistry between Maya and Bial.

The story begins with the reference of Dr. Naveed, a person whose reference wipes away the smiles from faces and reminiscence of a dark chapter of past preponderates. His arrival to Pakistan carries with it a hefty haunting past. The reprehensible offense that he has caused to the family keeps searing in the hearts and souls of the family and reflects in their insolences. The show also keeps steering the discourse of the status of women in that household, and how it has affected their lives entirely.

The silhouette of Naveed’s past also masks the impression of Kaneez Fatima in the eyes of the family, including Dawood. Her profuse approach about women and their rights keeps harrowing others around her. However, she herself constructs a false impression of Dawood in their first interaction. As much as the element of guilt and grief lurks throughout the show, the subtle tiffs between Dawood and Kaneez serve light-hearted comic relief. Where would this tale of attraction and past take them? To find out, watch Yunhi every Sunday at 8 pm only on #HUM TV
